Sunshine Brew

2 tbsp dried chamomile

2 tbsp dried bergamot

2 tbsp dried ginger

2 tbsp dried rosemary

Mortar and pestle

1 cup distilled water

1 paper coffee filter

1 clear glass bottle or jar

Grind the herbs with mortar and pestle just enough to break them up and release their aroma, not enough to pulverize them. Boil one cup of distilled water. Take one half of your herbal mixture and place in center of a paper coffee filter. Twist filter tightly. Place filter in the cup of hot water. Remove after one hour; throw soaked herbs away. Refrigerate sunshine brew, and be sure to label DO NOT DRINK. To use, empower at sunrise or at noon. Add a crystal to the brew for more power.

* chamomile

* bergamot

* ginger

* rosemary

Cleansing Herbal Mix

Combine equal amounts of each
(about ½ tsp):

* lavender

* rosemary

* chamomile

* lemon verbena

* lemongrass

*** If using fresh ingredients, no need to grind.***

Grind together in your mortar and pestle.

Place herbal mixture in a cotton conjuring bag, or white piece of cloth tied with white string.

Hold your hands over the bad, and breathe deeply.

“Sunlight to activate
Moonlight to blend
Spirit to bring the power to cleanse
Touch of wind!”

Allow yourself to become one with Spirit.

“Joy, peace, and perfection.
Peace with the gods,
Peace with nature,
Peace within.”

Dip the bag of herbs in water. Repeat the above charm.

Dip the bag back in the water and begin sprinkling yourself. Envision that all negativity you may be carrying around is lifted from you with gentle breaths of fresh air. Allow the winds of peace, healing, and harmony to circle about your mind and body. You may experience a tingling, a rush of energy, or simply a pleasant and well-deserved peace.

Lesson: To Charge an Herbal Charm

Assemble all your materials on your altar.

Cast a circle.

Light a candle of an appropriate colour. If you wish, burn incense.

Raise energy.

In mortar and pestle, grind together all the herbs for your charm. Visualize the image or emotion you desire, and project it into the herbs as you grind them together. Draw or create any other symbols you may wish.

Gather together the herbs and other objects into the cloth. Twist the top around them and tie it once with thread.

Breathe on the charm and charge it with Air.

Pass it through the candle flame, and charge it with Fire.

Sprinkle a few drops of water on it, and charge it with Water.

Dip it into salt, or touch it to your pentacle, and charge it with Earth.

Hold it in your hands, breathe on it, and charge it fully with all the energy you can rasise, concentrating on your visualization.

Drop to the ground, relax, and earth the power.

Bind the spell, tying it as you do so.
