A Wishing Incantation

Place your written wish in front of you on your altar. Take a deep breath, and exhale slowly. Hold your hands over the wish, saying:

“Power of the east, winds of sacred birth
Gather all your force and bring desire to earth.
Power of the south, winds of hot creation
Separate the earth by fire, refine this incantation.
Power of the west, winds of down below
Bubble up to meet the sky and make the pattern so!
Power of the north, winds of sacred treasure
Solidify my own desire and formulate the measure!
Power of Spirit, winds of dusk and dawn
Align the planets in their places, words convey the song!
Power of myself, the winds of my demand
Thrice I speak to penetrate and bring about my plan!”

Clearly speak your desire three times.

Burn your wish paper in your cauldron.

Let the ashes loose upon the wind so that the Elementals can grasp your wish properly.

Spell: Protection Shield

1) Get into your magickal mindset.

2) Be aware of your energy field, the space around your body at about an arm’s length. Feel your energy field like an egg or sphere around your whole body.

3) Visualize the edge of the energy field becoming like a faceted crystal. It is clear like quartz or diamond, and hard, strong, and protective. Let the light of your mind reflect in the dazzling facets of the gem. The crystal surrounds you, above and below.

4) Hold the intention of protection from all harm in your mind. The shield will protect you from all harm. It blocks harmful energy and allows in the energy you need for your highest good.

“I charge my protection shield to protect me from all harm on any level, and reflect love back on the source of the harm.”

5) Repeat the process as many times as you would like and hold the image. When done, let the image fade from your mind when it starts to wander. You can continue on to other meditations, or end your session.

Spell: The Indrinking

* This is meant for self-acceptance when you’ve made a mistake or are filled with guilt or regrets.

Cast a circle.

Sit facing North, and light a black or white candle.

Hold in both hands your chalice, filled with clear water. You should have before you an image of the Goddess and a green plant, in earth.

Visualize all the negative things you are feeling about yourself, the mistakes you have made, the things you have done wrong. Talk to yourself about admit you feel bad. Tell yourself, out loud, exactly what you have done wrong, and why. Let your emotion build energy, and project it all into the cup. Breathe on the water.

Raise power.

Visualize the Goddess as forgiving Mother. Imagine her hands cover yours. Hear Her say:
“I am the Mother of all things,
My love is poured out upon the earth.
I drink you in with perfect love,
Be cleansed. Be healed. Be changed.”

Pour out the water onto the plant, and feel your self-hate draining out of you.
(It is possible this ritual will kill the plant).

Fill the cup with milk or juice.

Raise more power, and visualize yourself as you would like to be, free of guilt and sorrow, changed so that you will not repeat the same errors. Charge the cup with strength and the power to be the person you want to be.

Again, visualize the Goddess. Her hands cover yours, and She says:
“Mine the cup, and Mine the waters of life.
Drink deep!”

Drink the juice or milk. Feel yourself filled with strength. Know that you have changed, that you are, from that very moment, a new person, not bound by the patterns and errors of the past.

Bind the spell.

Earth the power.

Open the circle.

Spell: For Loneliness

Cast the circle.

Raise energy.

Sit facing North and light a grey candle.

In a mortar and pestle, grind a shark’s tooth (or other sharp bone) to powder.

“You
Have no bones
And never sleep.
You
Swim always
Within me.”

Allow loneliness to fill you and project it into the powder.

“Now be gone!”

Release the feeling into the powder.

Spit three times into the powder and burn it in a brass bowl, with aloes, nettles, and thorns.

Douse the fire with salt water.

Earth the power.

Bind the spell.

Release the circle.

You will feel light of heart and free of loneliness.

Spell: To Bind an Enemy

Cast a circle.

Light a black candle. Burn incense of Saturn.

Sprinkle your poppet with salt water.

“Blessed be, thou creature made of art. By art made, by art changed. Thou art not wax (cloth, etc), but flesh and blood. I name thee _____. Thou art s/he, between the worlds, in all the worlds. So mote it be.”

Hold the poppet in your hands. Visualize a silver net falling over it, and binding the person it represents.

Take a red ribbon and wrap it around the poppet, tying it firmly, and binding all parts of the body that could conceivably harm others. Charge the binding with power.

“By air and earth,
By water and fire,
So be you bound,
As I desire.
By three and nine,
Your power I bind.
By moon and sun,
My will be done.
Sky and sea,
Keep harm from me.
Cord go round,
Power be bound,
Light revealed,
Now be sealed.

Earth the power.

Open the circle.

Bury the poppet during a waning moon, far from home, under a heavy rock.

Lesson: Binding a Spell

When you have finished casting a spell, visualize yourself tying a knot in a cord wrapped around the symbol or image on which you have focused. Tell yourself you are setting the form of the spell, as a clay pot is set when it is fired.

“By all the power
Of three times three,
This spell bound around
Shall be.
To cause no harm,
Nor return on me.
As I do will,
So mote it be!”

A Candle for Attracting Love

To attract a lover who will appreciate and respond to your unique “vibration”, you can amplify that vibration by lighting a candle and saying:

“In the core of my heart,
A flame burns brightly,
Burning to give love,
Burning to receive love.
It burns for a love that is pure and true,
It burns for a love that is full of passion.”

Pause to place your hand over your heart, as you think about your heart qualities: warmth, kindness, passion, and a capacity for a very great love. Feel the beating of your heart and imagine waves of energy that radiate outward, radiating your special warmth, radiating your unique quality of love.

While gazing at the candle or the photograph, recite:

“My heart flame’s a beacon
For the one who is right for me.
Whether from near or from far,
Let her be drawn to me.
Light the path that she may find me.
As I desire, so she desires.
And so my true love comes to me.”

Along with this recitation, you should spend some time contemplating what qualities you require in a mate, and, equally important, what you have to offer another person.

To Rid Yourself of Negativity

Set an empty cauldron or goblet on your altar between two lit white candles. Burn a good protection or blessing incense. Sit or stand before the altar. Breathe slowly and evenly until you are calm and centered. Take the cauldron or goblet in both hands; hold high over the altar in salute to the gods. Lower to chest level and slowly breathe into the cauldron, silently naming each habit, person or experience you wish removed from your life.

When finished, turn the cauldron or goblet upside down on the altar, saying:

“The contents of this vessel I give to thee, Great Ones. Exchange these experiences for better.”

Place an offering of herbs and milk outside. Or burn herbs in your censer. This is best done during the Waning Moon.

Hecate Protection Spell

“Hecate, I call to thee,
Watch over me
As you can see
All the negativity
Swarming around me.
May your grace
Protect me.”

To increase the power and energy of this spell, mix the following powder:

1) Black salt (not the Indian cooking type, but the magical one). Used for protection.

2) Coarse sea salt. For cleansing negativity.

3) Ground dragon’s blood. To compliment and raise the powder’s energy level.

Mix them in equal parts and use it to mark a sacred circle on the ground.

Spell to Protect your Book of Shadows

During the phase of the Waning Moon, visualize the pages of your Book of Shadows growing thick with wisdom and witchery. Set the book up on your work space, light a few candles, get your favourite incense going and set a magical mood. Ground and center yourself. Raise your energy high and then hold your hands palms down over the book. Repeat the charm while you empower the book with the powers of the Four Elements, knowledge, wisdom, and illumination.

“As the Moon does grow fuller and fuller
each night,
My Book of Shadows grows too,
In knowledge and light.
By Earth, Air, sky, and sea,
As above, now so below,
The Elemental powers spin
And my magick holds.”

Casting a Circle

Imagine a circle of light surrounding you. This light can be white, blue or purple. Circle the light around, above and below you in a clockwise direction, like the representation of an atom. Feel it as a sphere around you or as a cone of power. Remember to leave a “doorway” through which your magick energy may exit. Banish all evil and negative energy, forbidding anything harmful to enter your space. Remember, you are always safe within your circle if you command it to be so. You should feel warm and peaceful within your circle. You can also outline the perimeter if needed. Negative entities cannot cross a line of salt. Candles, crystals, cord, stones, flowers and incense can also be used to create a barrier.

“I consecrate this circle of power to the Ancient Goddess.
Here may she manifest and bless her child.
This is a time that is not a time,
A place that is not a place,
On a day that is not a day.
I stand at the threshold between the worlds,
Before the veil of Mysteries.
May the Ancient Ones help and
Protect me on my journey.
I call upon the power of Air to witness this rite and guard this circle.
I call upon the power of Fire to witness this rite and guard this circle.
I call upon the power of Water to witness this rite and guard this circle.
I call upon the power of Earth to witness this rite and guard this circle.
This circle is bound,
With powers all around,
Between the worlds, I stand
With protection at hand.
By the powers of the Ancient Goddess,
I bind all power within this circle,
Into this spell,
So mote it be.”

A Yule Ritual

Light a red candle in your cauldron and recite:

“I light this fire in Your honour, Mother Goddess.
You have created life from death;
Warmth from cold;
The Sun lives once again;
The time of light is waxing.
Welcome, ever-returning God of the Sun!
Hail Mother of all!”

Circle the altar and cauldron slowly, clockwise, watching the flame. Say the following for some time:

“The Wheel turns,
The power burns”.

Meditate upon the Sun, on the hidden energies lying dormant in Winter, not only in the earth, but within ourselves. Think of birth not as the start of life, but as its continuance. Welcome the return of the God.

After a time, cease and stand once again before the altar and flaming cauldron. Recite:

“Great God of the Sun,
I welcome Your return.
May You shine brightly upon the Goddess;
May You shine brightly upon the Earth,
Scattering seeds and fertilizing the land.
All blessings upon You,
Reborn One of the Sun.”

A Guiding Charm

Great Spirit, show me the way
to walk with the light, to dance the stones
to receive visions at night, and know I'm never alone
to reach for the stars, with a wish in one hand
to reach for the Earth, and help heal our land
to follow my bliss, to live happy and free,
Great Spirit show me that the magick is me
so mote it be.
